Nice found time to continue my recording of events. =) Before I forget most of the details, better to pen them down for future reference. =|
Next event checked on the list was the NPCC chalet. Usually sec. 4s aren't invited to this annual event, but somehow we got the invitation. Must be because under the leadership of Ting Yit, the unit prospered with double champions in major competitions (Shooting and Quiz). That's why there's an exception. Just my guess. Interest at first wasn't exactly heart warming but after a little (traditional) magic [optional, but you have to go if you have no good reason not to], the turnout was rather good. Organisation can be improved, to be polite. I was quite late in meeting some sec. 4s at Aljunied MRT station, because I was accustomed to people being late already. Turned out I was utterly wrong. I forgot that we came from a uniformed group and was accustomed to being punctual and never late. =S However, this amount of time pales in comparison to what happened later. We merely waited several hours for them to decide to shift to the chalet (only Mr. Yong could check in, but he was at school, or so rumoured). Meanwhile, we (sec. 4s) idled around and Gwee Khian decided to blame some one for the terrific organisation. Several people got targeted, but it was fun nonetheless. When we finally decided to move to the chalet, we found out that it was quite a long walk there. Javan mentioned that it was near a swimming pool and we kind of commented on all signs and objects on the way to the chalet, including drains, the sea, a public toilet etc. We must seem rather funny, we're the only ones talking loudly and kind of making a fool of ourselves. For our own entertainment, purely. Haha. Finally, we reached the chalet (around a few hundred metres walk only) and separated for our own events. At night we gathered back, played card games, watched their epic fail BBQ. Some carried out their preplanned journey to find dinner. So much for unit spirit or bonding. After the BBQ (actually there wasn't really an end), we separated for our individual activities again. I didn't have much to do, my squad mates (ex- now) seem keen on sleeping. Therefore, I ventured to other rooms. Shawn invited me up to the sec. 2 room. I hesitated, wasn't sure about intruding. But well, in the end, I still went in. They were very much awake, unlike my... never mind. Was already acquaintances and friends with some of them, so therefore I wasn't really a stranger. Played Big 2 with some of them for 5+h continuously (some of them took shifts). Meanwhile, Nick Chng was being himself as usual, attracting attention with his skirmish with Song Ken. Then he said he was going to sleep and ended up playing Fate of the Dragon. Learned about different idiosyncrasies (kudos to Jin Rui for this big word) of different years and found out that Big 2 was not as boring as it seems, with a few random conversations and insults thrown around. Trudged back during the second day, we walked back and forth along the same long path from the chalet to the food outlets several times to accumulate a total distance of around 10km (each continuous journey back or forth took an arduous 10 minutes more). Overall, the chalet was still OK with just a number of obvious minuses. =P
2M '07 chalet was up on my list after the NP chalet. Only 2 people organised this, but there was relatively little hiccups compared to the NP chalet organised by an entire committee. Proves that one does not really need order and numbers to do something well. Ownage. Seriously. Meeting for old friends, have continuously met up at least once every year. Bitter sweet reminiscence, feels so comfortable around them. =) Of course there was fun and laughter as we make jokes (topics revolve around same old people). Played hearts for a stunning 13+h continuously. Ms Bian and Mr Krison came to visit us, both for a short time only. Wei Xiang and I laughed hard and loud about a joke shared between us for very long already, Jit Woon sparked the ignition to the flammable joke. Haha. =D Jit Woon made us laugh in the middle of the night by saying that he can identify whose tahi is whose just by smelling. He went to the toilet, and said that Ting Yit did big business just now. We were like cracking up over that. After that, the same person said that people who belong to uniform groups have identifiable distinct tahi. After which Marcus and Jit Woon left for some NCC activity and we made some comments about uniform groups and their (ridiculous) morning activities at chalets, including fire drills, pitching tents etc. After which, the topic became NCC and its precision drills, except, it became farting, with Chunqi making the sound effects. The night was hilarious. We split up in the morning and I followed a group to bowling. I haven't bowled for very long and ended up quite lousy, but still at least didn't end up cleaning the gutters a lot. =X An improvement indeed.
The last outing before school starts is with two friends from primary school. Format was the same as my 2nd outing with my two other friends, lunch then movie. The two friends (like my other two) were later than me. Next time, I'll take note that if I go out with NPCC/NCC friends, I must be punctual on the spot. For others, it's like +10 to +30 minutes late also can. Zzz We ate lunch at Subway, talked about school and academics, and went off window shopping (we bought the movie tickets already). We fiddled around in Tom & Stephanie's, especially in the kids section. =P Quite amusing saying that "This fits you!" holding a small pink dress and "I'll buy this for your next Xmas present." with a pacifier in your hand. Haha, different groups of friends have different characteristics, and I have to conform somehow (not undergoing major change to suit their character, but slightly to accommodate better). After the ridiculous window shopping, we went to watch the movie with smuggled McNuggets and a bag of potato chips. The movie was my first NC-rated and god was it gory with vampires and blood. Lucky we finished the nuggets fast. As the movie continued, it got more grotesque and we can't bring ourselves to open the bag of chips. The movie's plot was good and the animation was entertaining too, if one doesn't mind the disgusting blood spewing and sucking (that's why it's NC16). I don't regret watching it, even though I hope I won't have nightmares after watching it. =X
Yay! Finished penning down my outings. Tomorrow's start of school. Hope my biological clock can adapt in just one night. >.<

Updates - Events (Part One)
I'm too tired for philosophical posts. School's almost starting soon, though the timetable schedule for the 1st 10 days looks slack except for the diagnostic tests. Will flunk those testing English standards, no doubt. As for those testing maths, if any, I can salvage my memory, I hope. =X Been connecting with friends actively this last lap of the holidays. Thanks to all friends. =) The holiday period has been much better with your companionship. As for those who I didn't have a chance to meet up with, or who refused / ignored because of their own personal reasons, I won't blame you guys. Just hope that there'll be a time where I can meet you people, in person, not via devices of technology.
Started the chain of meeting ups with the 2010 New Year Countdown. Met at night at City Hall Interchange, organised by Zhen Quan. It was extremely crowded, only the Beijing subway can match the situation there. With policemen maintaining order. Went a whole long way (a roundabout, an underpass, a pathway and then a bridge). Throngs of people, all kinds can be found there. Extremely packed, not for the claustrophobic. Didn't manage to reach the Esplanade though, where one of the celebration was. Ended up stoning on the bridge waiting for the countdown. Only the 3, 2, 1 reached though. However, the atmosphere was spirit-lifting. Awesome. Everyone was celebrating, and it's the new year. Oh yeah, my first new year (midnight) outdoors. Previous years I was camping in front of the TV and watching. Pretty no life, especially since I have no friends or siblings to celebrate the start of the new year. Lonely. On the strike of the hour, the TV celebration reached the climax and you are high. Then you look around, there's no one, you off the TV and go to sleep. No better anti-climax. Outdoors with friends is a new experience and I love it, albeit the crowd and everything that goes with squeezy situations. The fireworks was spectacular, at least 10X better than viewing through the TV screen. Ernest requested that we come like early in the afternoon next year for a good spot, to avoid the crowd and be comfortable. Good plan. I shall decide, when next year comes. =)
Second outing only has three people. Among BFFs in my upper secondary class. I felt a little disappointed that there isn't an upper sec. class outing. Thus, I just gathered my good friends and we went for lunch (at Long John Silver's) and a movie (刺陵) together at Causeway Point. The meeting up was quite a joke. I thought I was late in meeting up Boyang at Bukit Batok MRT station, ended up he was much later than me. The other person, Yau Xuan, I guess was also late, but was waiting at the upper deck of Woodlands MRT. So much for punctuality. That was why I was uber late for a later outing. :P Both the lunch location and the movie were decided by Yau Xuan. We're actually fine with almost anything. Anything goes. =) The movie was kind of expected, knowing Yau Xuan, of course it has to be something to do with romance. Good movie generally, starring 周杰伦 and 林志玲, not that I watched many movies. The last time I went out for a movie before this was... can't remember. =|
Too exhausted now, no energy to carry on with recounts of outings. Shall carry on later in the day (it's 2+am now). I wonder how I'll adjust my biological clock back for school. Guess for the 1st week at least I may be walking like a zombie in the campus. Sigh... And the guy who mass spammed my tag board, it's rather obvious who you are, you revealed yourself by the usage of words in the repeated posts. Not like you can help it, there isn't much of a suitable replacement for that word... Maybe you should not niao yourself so often, and before you say anything, I reinforce that I do not, and have not ever, or will ever, despise(d) you. =D
Much as I tell myself and people not to take things for granted, I find that, inevitably, the closer a thing or person get, the more I will take it/him/her for granted. I try not to though, but will still slip now and then. Pardon me if I do (particularly directed at 2 people which I communicate very frequently with). No one is perfect, right? =S I'll just try to tread carefully while being my own self. Quite hard, but I'll manage. Somehow.

End of 2009, End of high school life
Much has changed since I entered HCI in secondary one. In sec. 1, my brain's controlled by the element of fun and impulse, but I still prefer home to outdoors. In sec. 2, my brain's almost the same, except that I was less impulsive, less innocent, less ignorant, and slightly more sensible. In sec. 3, due to environmental change, my character gradually budged. Once it budged, the rate of change became exponential. Affected by different elements of character of different people, with no aim of mine. In sec. 4, my character went through a final climax of elemental fixation, before it more or less settled down. Unlike, lower sec., in upper sec., I went through at least 3 different groups of people, due to the table arrangement changing (and even the tables themselves changing), therefore this reason was the catalyst of my character changing. However, throughout the four years, I'm still no good in communicating with adults. Throughout the years though, my tolerance slowly increases. Despite this, at the breaking point, initially a one-off explosion is expected, now, it's more of a slow, accumulating release. I think people prefer a one-off explosion to the slow, accumulating release. After all, it's like death, one prefers an instantaneous, quick one, and not a slow, torturous one. However, explosions happen more frequently. :P
And now I finally found out what I'm looking for in friendship. Making friends is akin to making investments in stocks. Each person is like a stock. Similar to investing in stocks, in making friends, one asks for returns. One will only choose a "stock" that has prospects in giving returns. If it doesn't, one will dump it and buy another which appeals to him. If one is "earning", one will consistently pump in more. Of course, once the "stock" starts to drop, if it has been giving one "earnings", one will not dump it immediately as trust has been built (as time passes). This may be fluctuations in the market caused by external reasons. Similarly in human relations, this can be termed loyalty. One does not simply abandon a friend if he/she is down. After all, a friend in need is a friend indeed. Beware of "stocks" you may be attracted to, but which in a long period still doesn't give much returns, other than empty words which serve to disillusion. Do not throw in too much unless you see a positive, realistic response, if not you will find that life goes a-crashing like the plight of an investor who trusts a stock a lot but suddenly loses his fortune due to it. Extremely hard to say if you are already head over heels (due to long periods of interaction) inside the relation. Don't get stuck. If you are, good luck then, hope the "stock" really gives you returns, otherwise... call a counselling hotline, if you need. Have to thank a person again, now I know what I am really looking for in a friendship. Or actually, it should be what most people look for (but they can't put it into words exactly what they're looking for, it's not like looking for a spouse). After all that one specially gives and sacrifices, be it time or energy or any other, one really hopes that the other person can do the same, even once will suffice, to let him/her know that all that has been given/sacrificed is worth it. Methods of requesting for returns range from demanding right in the face (ouch) to dropping little hints to providing chances. Using the emotional approach always work, if the person-in-question has an adequate amount of conscience. Psychological ways work wonders, but they can also be used on you. I don't like to use them, seriously. Please don't make me do so. It tears me as much as it tears you.
Finally finished investigating the relationships between friends. Back to academics, as much as I hate them. JC life will be a new chapter. Shall hold on dearly to current friendships though, will strive to maintain them. I hope I won't forget. Slap me if I do. Here's to a good 2010. =)
