Here I am honouring my promise of penning down this section of the blog post, sacrificing valuable time which I could have spent to do my homework (not as if I feel like doing it). Weather's pretty interchangeable for the past few days, it isn't good as people fall sick more easily. I don't think I will, as I got stricken by it already. And here I am deviating from my main topic again... =(
Psychology. In lower secondary, someone mentioned it and I remembered dismissing it as a useless area of study. As I moved into upper secondary and up to JC, along with the mental changes in my mind which I had described before in previous blog posts, I began to feel that it is indeed very relevant in our lives and began to feel curious about the human mind and spirit. The 5Ws and 1H in general. Humans are intellectual beings which make our range of thinking and therefore actions and responses very varied and worth appreciating and understanding. I'm rather interested in it currently, along with a budding attraction towards economics (other than chemistry, which I had liked for a period of time already). Psychology and economics are both under sociology I think, and I hope I have found an area, albeit extremely wide in scope, which I am keen to learn about (the behaviour of humans).
I wonder if the previous paragraph served as a viable introduction. Must worry about GP, my English has been uber low quality since the start of my life. :S (Off-topic once more.) Humans do need psychological support from others, be it friends or family. I am at a severe disadvantage. For one, I do not have any siblings to show empathy to me. Second, I do not have BFFs. Therefore, I can only gain encouragement to move on with life from close friends, which of course, dull in contrast to the potential encouragement I can gain if I have BFFs. If I am a hydrogen atom [attempt to link chemistry with sociology], right now the bonds I can form are with classmates (same element H), with acquaintances (similar electronegativity value elements like C), with friends (difference in electronegativity larger, like in compounds MgH2 and H2S), where close friends relate to even larger difference in electronegativity values. However, only BFFs and siblings can assume the roles of Group I elements and the three most electronegative elements, N, O, and F, as the bonds formed between these elements and H are the strongest (comparison of all bonds that H can form with my limited knowledge). I am also like H with only 1 lone electron orbiting in vast spaces in the electron cloud (which is life itself). Others who have siblings have companion electrons in the same atom. Therefore, I can only seek to form strong bonds with others. However, I do not have even a single bond which has a bond energy that is comparable to those I seek. Funny how people talk about BFFs with the "s" when I do not even have one. D'= Makes me very depressed sometimes. That's why I want to sleep earlier (refer to earlier blog post for more details) and pull people whom I am close to even closer.
I believe a small little H atom has its own merits which can attract BFFs as well as other elements do. =)

Physical Update
Physical update does not mean update on physical fitness. I have always flunked in napfa, and will most probably continue this trend for my JC life. Anyway, even if I fail in J2 (or get bronze, which is equally useless), it just implies that I have to enlist for NS 3 months earlier than the others. 3 full months to make up for 18 years of slacking and passiveness. Come to think of it, to cheer myself up (to prepare for the worst if it comes...), it is rather worth it. Enough of lamenting on my poor physical fitness. This isn't the main point. I digressed right from the start, which proves that my GP has much to be desired... My 1st compre got 8.5/20, which is actually 3rd place in my CT... Only Bing Lin passed with 10.5. Oh well, some of my classmates were openly amusing themselves with the single digit marks, including those who got 1 mark and below. It is rather entertaining as we laugh at our own miserable plight... but to be serious, it isn't funny at all. =(
I actually provided myself a link to this paragraph. I appluad myself for that subconscious effort. Physical update is an update on my physical well being. Here I am rather free (as I'm procrastinating and not doing work) sitting at a school computer in the JC library on the 4th floor typing a blog post. At least I rejuvenated my blog... though staring at the computer will not help me stay awake in chemistry olympiad training later. The syllabi are extremely mind gruelling and the lessons moving at an insane pace (1 topic per weekly session of 2 hours). Sleeping at 12am doesn't work for JC already, unlike in high school, as the weekdays are longer and one needs more energy to stay awake. The quality and quantity of homework also increase, albeit the number of subjects decreasing (I admire the triple science class, really, I wonder how they can stand the demands of all the subjects.). There isn't much time for me to slack around and enjoy the feeling of doing nothing. Almost every minute of the night I'll have tutorials displayed in front of me for me to kill my brain cells with them. In the afternoons I'm free, I usually play DotA to relieve stress. Therefore, I am relatively nonchalant to the loads of homework... as my CCA only has occasional sessions to attend only. My goal for this week is to push my sleeping time (or at least logging off my laptop time) forward to 11:30pm. If I am listless, I am unethusiastic in interaction with friends and often ignore acquaintances when they pass by. Applied for a new CCA just last week, I do not know when it can be confirmed. I just want to make myself useful (hopefully not a nuisance or just a flower vase [problem is I'm not good-looking too]) and enrich myself with more experience using the time of my youth. After all life is relatively short. Must make good use of every stage of life, I do not want to live on with regrets.
Despite it being ardous, let the learning journey and self discovery continue. =D
Shall update on the mental well-being later on in the night. Yes, I will be ignoring my homework, however, it is always good to reflect now and then. =)

Progress... or stagnancy
The time I sleep, for this particular week up till now, has been tending towards 1am. Difference of an hour from last year, and I wake up 15 minutes earlier in the morning to get to school earlier to complete unfinished homework. What didn't change is that I am still very inefficient. People usually sleep very early (meaning the hours of ante meridian) and complete their work. For me, I sleep very early AND do not finish my homework. =( I shall heed the Singapore's government call and RAISE PRODUCTIVITY. My sleeping time is increasingly being compensated in lectures, and this isn't something to be proud of...
JC has a lot of new programmes, events and CCAs to try out, which I did and am still doing. The number of interviews I went for in these few months exceeds the total amount I went for in high school. So now I'm slightly better in communicating ideas and facing large audiences, though relative to other people, I still have much to be desired. It takes experience I guess and the most important factor is to DARE TO TRY. It wouldn't help your character-building if one just concentrates on academics alone. Thus, I'm increasingly opening myself up to considering the various opportunities that are available (previously, I'll just read the content and click back on the smb button without a second thought). Learn from experience, both failures and successes. Interestingly the number of interviews I passed = the number of which I failed. I expected worse as I have absolutely lousy formal communication skills.
Despite my claim that I am trying out the programmes of my interest, my CCA direction is unclear. I am completely unsure of the CCA path I am going to tread, explore and develop myself. AVA is rather slack and I get to go to concerts / functions free if I help out in the PA support. Other than that, it seems like saikang and the only thing I'll get out of it is learn how to operate the various equipments. To search for alternatives is extremely difficult, as I do not have any talent in any specific area. I'm in a dilemma. Some options are open... however I do not know whether I should take them as most of them are irreversible... =/
