Tests coming...

[Update. A rather unhappy one again. Of the mind/heart, not event.]

Yeah, these hated sheets of paper (and some virtual ones as well) are creeping nearer and nearer... Why can't we have school without tests and exams? Because we'll slack. I can understand that, but do we need so many tests and assignments? Students nearly work all the hours they're awake, except for the occasional entertainment sought. Haiz, first test of JC life is scheduled this Thursday. *Shudders*. ABCDESU? Where will I hit? Hopefully nearer the A than the U end. Need to work hard, but I don't like mugging... I mean who does?

Meanwhile, friends are the only ones that let me experience what the song "Top of the World" really means (friendship love, not any other kind). Checked out the lyrics recently, very meaningful actually. I thought it just writes of a person going high. Because Guo Chen and Zhen Quan sang the song very horribly (extremely high and off-pitched) near the end of last year. I remember in the NP Training Room, they sang a super duper ultra uber terrible duet of the song. Good old days of high school... even though I didn't really extend myself to my limits nor tap on my abilities. As one grows older, one misses the days where he was carefree, innocent and can do what he wants with no restraints. Haiz...

Well, with NPCC ARD 2010 over, which happens to the first of its kind I went for, it is confirmed that I will have some major social responsibilities, or what Ting Yit terms "contract"(s). Not a burden like what other people think. Rather the opposite, the encounters arising from the responsibilities are meaningful, fulfilling and enjoyable. With the clarification of my actual character to a certain person, I think I can enjoy the encounters more at ease. After all, hugs are good and even beneficial, aren't they? For those who do not have good oral communication skills, giving hugs to friends are confirmations of friendship as well. Actions do speak louder than words. But when you seldom meet a person, only words can speak, and they serve as the only tool for reassurance that time and energy have not been wasted. Sadly. =(

As for some person who have trusted me a whole lot for a very long time, I suggest that you start forming opinions by yourself. I am not right all of the time. The elite which you talked to is a good example of a person who has strong opinions of his own. However, do not learn 100% from him, his is rather unshakeable, at least let me give my input to you now and then. =)

Ad Infinitum HCJC Orientation 2010 Part One B (CT & Fac) + CNY

Title is so long. I don't like it myself. >.<

Came back from Malaysia yesterday. The experience of CNY there was different from that in Singapore... 1) Houses there are much more spacious and one can move around easily without fearing of treading on some one or kicking something. Having more room also means, you can actually lie down while playing all sorts of games (and I do mean all sorts, my cousins range from 1-19, with every age having at least one person with the exception of a few ages only). And some games the older ones have to get mass ganged, not that it matters, the younger ones are pretty light with not that much force in their hits, but you have to be immature (again) to entertain them, being high and mighty serves the opposite purpose with not-very-appealing consequences. Firecrackers and fireworks rock a lot. Had fun throwing some small stone-like object that produces a loud sound when thrown (or dropped), shot a few into the gates and rooftops of other people. :P Lighting some explosive called 恐龙蛋 was enjoyable too, with lights and sounds, the experience can be said to be even better than watching fireworks. =) Love my Malaysian cousins more somehow, compared to the Singaporean ones as a whole, in case some person decides to get indignant about this.

To the other topic on my list... I realise I haven't write back to my angel yet. Need to write some time today, with time and effort. After all girls are more sentimental... and my angel's a girl. Campfire was a highlight of the orientation programme. At first it rained, and the central plaza was wet. We had to make do with the hall and a fake campfire (just a few strips of red and yellow cloth with wind blowing to make them hover) for the performance part of the campfire. Well, might as well, a comfortable environment to enjoy the performances. The sodache part was at the central plaza, declared dry by the councillors. Sodache was wild, there were trains of people moving about until the four faculties are inter-mixed and when the dance session came, 1/2 of the cohort were dancing with their own gender or alone or just plain staring and laughing. The whole cohort was high with immense enthusiasm, and I do mean WHOLE and HIGH. =D Jump and shout! XD An experience like never before! Will never forget such an eventful campfire (as compared to the others I had :X).

The following week was faculty dance practice sessions. I didn't go for 1/2 of the sessions. Out of the 1/2 which I went for, 1/2 of them I was dancing by myself. The faculties have gender inequality in numbers too. And Athena faculty dance has many interactions, that's why I didn't go for 1/2 the practices. But all in all, the faculty dance is wonderful. =) During Post Orientation Party after the 捞鱼生 as CTs, we did our best in the faculty dance and was 2nd only to Ares, as the latter's dance was choreographed extremely well.

Ad Infinitum, strive towards infinity!

Now back to studies... =X

Ad Infinitum HCJC Orientation 2010 Part One A (CT & Fac)

Procrastination. I so hate it. Now my memories are blur, thanks to myself for wasting so much time before deciding to pen down the memories. Chinese New Year Resolution: Maximum procrastination level: 1/4 as much as the current level. I must admit, the level will still be quite high even when reduced, but well, I can't totally wipe out entertainment from my life right? Just an excuse for me to slack. =(

Back to main topic. When the CT postings were out, I remember every OG was planning to go out for dinner. My OG stoned quite long at the steps near the canteen facing a grass patch with a construction site nearby, therefore we were able to check out the postings. When my former classmates (the ones taking physics) and I checked out the lists, we were severely demoralised and disappointed. 1) We were too evenly distributed among the classes, 1 person in every CT grouping, if you are extremely lucky, you have a classmate with you. Hate splitting and the length of the process of "Getting to know you" for strangers (note: nothing to do with the strangers themselves). 2) The CTs got the major problem of 阴阳失调, and so the flame of anticipation of having interaction with the opposite gender after 4 years was smothered by 1/2 (some flames were blazing hot and this comes as a heavy downpour). 3) Out of the small number allocated to each class, 1/3-1/2 are... never mind. The heavy downpour becomes a hailstorm. And there we go and be emotional together, comparing how pathetic our CTs look from just the name lists.

I bet any one reading this will go tsk tsk or haiz now, we're like so bad to give ourselves and our CTs death sentences even before meeting them. >.< We dreaded the day we are going to form up as CTs for the first time. The senior-junior meeting time was a relatively comfortable one though. The icebreaker games were new, at least to me and I kind of enjoyed them. OMG! Can't believe I said this. And I found out that my classmates, the majority of the boys, are very easy to get along with. We can talk about any topic fluently, especially one particular topic. >.< My CT isn't as bad as I thought, I'll survive. There's still a depressing truth though that hit home with me and my other former classmates. And we went emotional again, complaining to each other. ._. Very, extremely, insanely, ultimately, super duper, uber emotional. It got worse when we saw other CTs. =( You yearn for it but cannot get it. That feeling is one of the worst one can experience. We were also told about some Angel-mortal exercise that we have to do that requires the angel (unknown, belongs to the other [senior/junior] CT) to write letters to the mortal. Everyone is a mortal and an angel but to different people at the same time. I thought they weren't serious and I can just ignore. However, it has been proven otherwise....

I'll continue about CT and faculty + POP in the next part of the post. It's pretty late now and I need to go Malaysia tomorrow! GG =X
