Who says that theories learnt in school can't be applied in real life? What rubbish. Oh no, continue reading on, i ain't no mugger. Really. Serious. Just read on and find out.

In physics, we learnt about diodes and how they rectify currents. I'll relate this theory to practical use. This method helps in keeping your spirits up in school and class, and aids a bit in understanding and remembering the theories bombarded at us. [No guarantees here.] Think of it as an analogy (not really 1, but then...).

We learn about direct current (D.C.) and alternating current (A.C.). Pretty boring, huh. Most of us will be groaning. Well, a person whose mind of thinking is like a D.C. is one who has very strong will and does not get distracted at all, i.e. he must get his work done w/o any breaks or distractions. Superman, this guy is. Never mind, most of us don't fall in this category.

The average person's train of thoughts is like the A.C., switching from the task he is supposed to complete to some other random stuff that relentlessly pop up in your head. Friends don't help either, sad to say. Frequently, it is hard and takes a long time for friends to sit down and complete a project together as irrelevant topics will be conjured out of someone's brain and they will veer off course. Thus, a lot of ppl prefer to communicate and finish projects online as the efficiency is noticeably higher.

Now, where does the diode come in? Quite simple. If only someone invents a device that will rectify people's trains of thoughts at any moment, i.e. cancel out the irrelevant random stuff that pops out from the brain (Note: Place it aside ,NOT delete it, but the thought that is supposed to be there is replaced with nothing) or change it to something constructive. These are similar to half-wave rectification and full-wave rectification respectively. People can then concentrate on their work more easily and this attribute is not exclusive to muggers. This inventor will sure win the Nobel Prize. Despite this pretty positive, futuristic thinking, it is very far-fetched and doesn't exist now. Who knows, in years to come, it may be invented, provided we don't get heated to death by the effects of global warming first.
